In equine photography, the session is only half the story. The real magic happens during the image reveal—where artistry meets intention, and where the connection between horse and human turns into artwork that will live on your walls for decades.
As a CT Photographer and CT Equine Photographer serving Northern Connecticut and Western Massachusetts, my process is designed to guide clients through every part of creating a legacy. And the recent reveal session with Caissy and her beloved Belle is the perfect example of why this step matters so much.
The Purpose Behind the Reveal Session
Most people are used to a photographer sending a giant digital gallery with no direction. You scroll through hundreds of images, get overwhelmed, save a few favorites, and the rest sit on your phone until they’re forgotten.
My process is intentionally different.
During Caissy’s reveal, we sat together (virtually) and walked through 83 images, one by one, viewing them the way they were meant to be seen—on a larger screen, not a phone. This alone changes everything. Details come alive. Expressions become clear. Subtle emotional cues feel deeper.
As a MA Equine Photographer and MA Photographer, I’ve learned that clients don’t need more photos—they need clarity, guidance, and someone who understands how imagery translates to long-term display.
Sorting with Purpose: From Overwhelm to Confidence
Together, Caissy and I built a simple structure:
Love
Like
Unsure
This system removes the pressure of “choosing the perfect one” right away and instead focuses on discovering what truly stands out emotionally.
For Belle’s portraits, we looked closely at:
her relaxed expressions
the softness in her eyes
the way her mane caught the light
the moments where she felt playful or alert
the subtle tilt of her head that showed her personality
And this is exactly where guidance matters. Sometimes the client loves an image for emotional reasons—while I might see a technical nuance that will make it print beautifully at large scale. Other times, the client isn’t sure between two nearly identical shots, and that’s where my trained eye steps in to help.
The goal is never to push a decision—only to offer clarity so every choice feels confident.
Choosing Art for Your Home
By the end of our review, we narrowed the full session down to 11 images that truly captured the bond between Caissy and Belle. These were the portraits that felt like them—the ones that deserved a place on a wall, not just a screen.
From there, I created a watermarked gallery for Caissy to share on Facebook and with friends and family. The final selections for wall art will follow once she’s had time to reflect on the favorites we highlighted together.
This is the heart of what I do.
Anyone can hand over a gallery. But helping you decide what belongs in your home—what will make you stop in your tracks every time you walk by—that’s where experience and care make the difference.

"Rob is an amazing photographer"
Rob is an amazing photographer, both technically and creatively. He knows how to make you comfortable during the shoot, and to bring out your own unique personality. Not only did he have so many of his own incredible ideas for the shoot, but he was also more than willing to collaborate for my vision as well. A top-notch experience from start to finish. Highly recommended.

I’ve always believed that good work speaks for itself. Photography, for me, has never been about chasing trends or high-volume sessions — it’s about creating portraits with clarity, purpose, and staying power.
